Signalling Robot

Automated signalling man has been in operation since a few weeks in the nearby the construction site. The robot is dressed up quite convincingly to look like a traffic controller, everybody slows down to take a closer look. First time seeing like this.

Values

Here's a detail from a sketch (in progress) I did yesterday.....among the two traffic cones, one has a change in tone from light into shadow (showing convincing turning of form) and the other has a single tone throughout (can't see form and structure), this is why I think tones are very important. Any other views on this?

Deepavali and custom designed mosaic Rangoli

Had a wonderful Deepavali at National Gallery, the reason being I got an opportunity to transform an intricate idea into a simplified visual reality. This custom designed mosaic Rangoli was conceptualised and designed to entertain the kiddie visitors, of course it was delightful to see my design coming to life in the little hands. It was indeed very well received !! :)
