"Celebrating NAFA's Fine Art" exhibition

Welcome to view many outstanding works(most of them are representational) at "Celebrating NAFA's Fine Art" exhibition from today till next Sunday(11am - 7pm daily).....mine is under "Continuing Education" group at level 2 On-Air Gallery.

Morning walk and sketch

School holidays and I'm going walks with my kids around waterway......saw a couple of  monitor lizards, Kingfishers and everyday I'm sketching 360 degree views from the same shady spot under the bridge....can't go too far with kids and can't spend more than 1 hour in sketch.....I find this an opportunity to learn sketching as many possible scenes around the same place. There is always room for improvement!

Rangoli

Rangoli for a corporate Deepavali event at Bedok......with a 3 1/2 feet "Kutthuvilakku" and decorative Diyas. I decorated the transparent sheet Rangoli with Kundan stones and Gold liner, since my client specifically requested for rich colours, I attached a white background to enhance the brightness of the colours.

Handcrafted framed Rangoli

Tampines Town Council recently placed an order for 5 unique handmade sets of Rangoli....... a special privilege is that these custom made sets are going to be signed by 5 of our Honorable Members of Parliament!!

Usually done on floor, Rangolis are designs composed of geometric patterns and shapes, together with rich colours. There are numerous possibilities in pattern and colours by rearranging the geometric shapes and I am always awestruck by seeing these designs and colours in Nature as florals, snowflakes, skin patterns of creatures on land and sea...so on.

Since the order here is to be framed, I had to go for a different medium than usual. I made these a little more special, the users can change the background for a different look......needless to say, I had fun and joy in creating these sets during this festive season. A sneak peek of the designs here........

NAFA SG50 Fine Art Celebration

"NAFA SG50 Fine Art exhibition" is to be held from 29th November - 6th December to mark Singapore's 50th birthday.....I'm honored that my painting "Twins" has been selected to be exhibited in this large-scale exhibition. Many thanks to my mentor Mr.Chng Chin Kang!!

Sengkang Floating Wetland Gouache sketch

Sengkang West Floating Wetland, 9" X 12", Gouache sketch........this was done earlier this month when the air was clear for a day between continual hazy skies :(

Handmade toy for kids

"Moving Waves" - Earlier this year, I made a simple handmade mechanical toy for my son Ritu......he designed the waves, diver, ship and the front side.....we both learnt together many little things to make it work. He used this for his "Show and tell" session in his school. He's very proud of this toy.

SG Heart Map Sketchwalk - Changi Airport

Sitting at level 1, we're looking down the Arrival Hall at basement and up the high roof diffusing natural daylight, to my left is a huge vertical garden stretching all the way up to the ceiling ..........at Changi Airport Terminal 3, "The Green Terminal".
