Heliconia, a common tropical plant is found alongside the waterway with it's red long stalk flowers peeping out, showing the complementary colors in nature, red and green. Sunlight falling on the plant on a bright morning created interesting light and shades.

Time and tide wait for none, but time here stands still for you to enjoy the lively. The tranquil water mesmerizes everyone, evokes a quiet mood to indulge within.

This painting is really after a long gap, however I used the time to learn from other artists. A scene from my neighborhood waterway, I'm striving to capture the essence of the place while still maintaining the color harmony, correct values and color temperature. There should be at least one improvement than every previous work for me to believe I'm in the correct phase of learning.
