If you rest , you rust, 16" X 20", Acrylic on canvas |
This elderly man was seen on a sunny day along the Sengkang West (Sungei Punggol) riverside, sitting in a shade under the bridge. Not caring about anyone passing by, he was keen recycling the used cans and tins. I wanted to paint him behind the sky high buildings, a scene of controversy between sophistication and hardwork. He is highly inspiring, representing our untiring elderly generation who developed Singapore into a flourishing nation and how they are still busy making every second of them meaningful.
