Urban Sketching Symposium in Singapore

I missed the activities and workshops on the four days of Urban Sketching Symposium 2015 held here in Singapore, but went for the fourth day mass sketchwalk for the symposium at Singapore Management University ......needless to say it was a very big turnout, quite lucky to see the works of many wonderful sketchers from around the world.

Pulau Ubin from Changi Beach

It was Hari Raya Puasa yesterday, we were in Changi Beach.......not so crowded there unlike all other public holidays, kids had a good time playing and I did two gouache sketches.....I have to windup this second sketch when I saw dark clouds over Pulau Ubin..... completed my sketch by adding foreground shadows at home today.

Changi Beach

Gouache sketch done yesterday at Changi Beach, I've sketched the same view in watercolour and charcoal before.

My lovely bunch of students!

Some clicks with my students on the last day of course........ they are sweet, curious, naughty, talkative, hardworking and all the more lovely. The best part of them is their tolerance towards my teaching :) I wish each of them great and happy moments of life!!

Kids Art @myartsandcreatives 2014 - Singapore landscape 5

This is the most awaited artwork students want to do, "Merlion", the very famous symbol of Singapore........I made kids to practice the drawing many times, now they know the easy method to draw this icon.

We used both blending and scratch-out in making of this painting. Look how the Merlion stands majestically in the crack of dawn.
